A beautiful 3 acre plot on the Dartington Estate, they provide good food for the local community, actively support the ecological diversity on their land, and foster connection and community through education, volunteering and membership.

Sustainable Farming Principles at School Farm

Their ethos revolves around simple yet profound principles. They provide members with a diverse array of delicious organic fruits and vegetables, cultivated ecologically and primarily by human hands. Leaving ample space for the surrounding wildlife, they avoid any chemicals. Minimising soil disturbance is a key practice, alongside efforts to ensure accessibility of their produce to the local community.

Seasonality

Dedicated to cultivating excellent organic vegetables, the farm provides CSA members with a healthy and ample share of the harvest each week. Their focus lies on the primary growing season from June through December. During this period, members can expect their vegetable share to come directly from the fields. Throughout the winter and the hungry gap, the farm maintains its commitment by offering a share of the harvest that combines their own produce with that of other local, organic producers.

A Big Thank you from School Farm CSA.

School Farm CSA stands as a shining example of what a united community can achieve

Fare Pricing

Ensuring affordability of their vegetable shares is a priority. However, they acknowledge the challenges of earning a livelihood from food production in an environment where food is often artificially undervalued. Hence, they offer their CSA members the freedom to choose from four payment options based on their financial means. This adaptable approach aims to increase accessibility to their vegetable shares while also sustaining the farm and supporting the growers’ well-being.
